How we’re supporting Manatū Wāhine Ministry for Women

We’re proud to contribute to the Manatū Wāhine Ministry for Women, New Zealand’s gender pay gap reporting project. Following the Acting Minister for Women’s announcement in June, this initiative will establish consistent methods for calculating the pay gap and foster valuable business-to-business learning. Our DEI Leads collective recently came together to share their perspectives, and we’re excited to contribute to shaping a government-level initiative that could drive meaningful, lasting change.

At The Diversity Agenda, closing the gender pay gap is a critical priority. This year’s Insights report revealed a 19% pay gap and a 0.4% pay equity gap based on data from participating Accord signatory organisations. While we are proud of the progress made in narrowing the pay equity gap, the work doesn’t stop there. Maintaining that progress and shifting our focus toward closing the overall pay gap is essential.

That’s why we’re especially pleased to have a voice in this government-led pay gap reporting initiative. We fully support this project and will be encouraging all Accord signatory organisations to participate in this voluntary reporting. It aligns with the core values of our movement – transparency, accountability, and action. Together, we aim to create a more equitable future. Stay tuned for further updates as we continue to work towards closing the gender pay gap.

A big thank you to the team at the Manatū Wāhine Ministry for Women, New Zealand for this opportunity – we’re with you all the way!
