We’re looking for new voices at the table
Expressions of Interest are now open for the Diversity Agenda Steering Committee, as we move into the next phase of our 2026–2030 Strategy.
We’re keen to bring in fresh perspectives to support this mahi — particularly across architecture, SMEs, Pasifika leadership, and early-career experience — alongside those committed to driving meaningful change across our industry.
If you’ve been thinking about how you can contribute at a sector level, this is one way to step in.
And if it’s not you, who comes to mind?
We encourage you to share this with your networks, or reach out to someone who would bring a valuable perspective and give them a nudge to apply.
Expression of Interest: Steering Committee Member
About the role
The Steering Committee provides strategic direction and oversight of the Diversity Agenda, acting as the voice of industry and guiding delivery of the strategy.
This is a working committee. Members contribute their expertise, perspectives and networks, while actively supporting key initiatives, partnerships and industry engagement.
What we’re looking for
Following a recent review of our current composition, we are looking to strengthen representation and capability in a few key areas.
We are particularly keen to hear from people who bring architecture sector experience, SME or business owner perspectives, Pasifika leadership, and early-career insight, alongside those with experience in areas such as iwi partnerships or practical delivery.
We also welcome interest from senior leaders and experienced professionals, and encourage applications from those who reflect the diversity of Aotearoa and perspectives not currently well represented at the table.
What you’ll bring
You’ll bring a commitment to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion, along with the ability to contribute both strategically and practically.
This includes sharing your experience and insight, working collaboratively, and supporting the growth and impact of the Diversity Agenda across the sector, whether through senior leadership, lived experience, or hands-on delivery capability.
Commitment
This is a voluntary role, supported by your organisation where possible.
The commitment includes attending regular Steering Committee meetings (around 10 x 1.5 hours per year), contributing approximately four hours per month, and participating in a rōpū or sub-committee to support delivery of key priorities.
Why join
This is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful, long-term change across engineering and architecture, and to be part of a group of leaders committed to shaping a more inclusive future for our industry, bringing a mix of perspectives, experiences and voices to the table.
How to apply
Please complete the Expression of Interest form by Friday 15 May – EXTENDED.
